Pyranine with 120 % intensity

PyraGreen™ is the water soluble and UV fluorescent dye pyranine with a high degree of purity.

Pyranine is for example used in dishwashing liquids, highlighter pens and for leak detection with UV lamp.

The American FDA specifies that the dye content must be at least 65 % for this dye to be safely used in externally applied drugs and in cosmetics. In PyraGreen™ the dye content is around 80 %.

This of course affects the intensity which is about 120 % of the intensity of a 65 % dye. The correlation between intensity and dye content is linear and 80/65=123 %.
